Business Frontage Competition 2019

                              

We are now accepting entries for our Swords Business Frontage Competition 2019, which is run in conjunction with Swords Tidy Towns. Judging will take place around the middle of July. The Clarke Perpetual Cup will be awarded to the winner of category (a) Best Business Floral Display and the Swords Tidy Towns Perpetual Cup will be awarded to category (b) Best Business Frontage/Window Display. Presentations will be made at ourAnnual Show which will be held on Bank Holiday Monday 5th August 2019, in St. Colmcille’s GFC, Swords. Winners will also be published in the Fingal Independent and other local media.

Competition 2014

The Old School House Bar & Restaurant is again the winner of our Swords Business Frontage Competition, while The Harp Bar, Carnegie Court Hotel came second and Tirconaill B&B came third. The competition is supported by Swords Tidy Towns Committee and Fingal County Council and the winners were announced at our Annual Show on Bank Holiday Monday 4th August in St. Columbas Parish Centre (Old Borough National School), Swords. Certificates were awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. The winner was also awarded The “Clarke Perpetual Cup”.

Competition 2013

Our relaunched Swords Best Business Frontage Competition was judged in the week prior to our Annual Show on Monday 5th August 2013 in St. Columbas Parish Centre in Swords. The competition was open to all local businesses, big or small, in the town of Swords, and has the support of Swords Tidy Towns and Fingal County Council. Our aim is to recognise and reward the contribution of local businesses to the Swords environment, and judging took into account hanging baskets, window boxes and overall frontage appearance. The winners were announced at our annual horticultural show on Bank Holiday Monday 5th August 2013. The “Clarke Perpetual Cup” and Certificate were also awarded to the winner at our show.

Pub Frontage Competition 2012

Our Annual Swords Pub Frontage Competition was open to all Public Houses and Lounge Bars in the Swords Postal District. Our aim was to recognise and reward the contribution of local pubs to the Swords environment, and takes into account hanging baskets, window boxes and overall frontage appearance. The “Clarke Perpetual Cup” and Certificate were awarded to the winner at our annual show on Monday 6th August 2012.

Our winner for 2012 for the third year in a row was:
